I bet you've been wondering what the difference is between the new Shimmerz Vibez and Shimmerz Spritz. Wonder no more! This video should clear everything up.
Enjoy!
Here are the finished tags from the video.
To create the tag on the left, I used Shimmerz Spritz in Ruby (pink) and Shimmerz Vibez in Jeni B. Bleu (blue).
To create the card on the right, I used Shimmerz Vibez in RazzleDazzle Berry.
I am loving playing with the vibrant color of the new Shimmerz Vibez!! I experimented by spraying Vibez on some cotton batting and making some flowers that have the look of felted wool. So fun and easy!!
Here's how I created them:
A close-up of Grape Escape over dry brushed Gesso on the background.
Thanks and have a great week! Be sure to share your Vibez projects with us! Can't wait to see your projects!
Monoprinting is a serendipitous affair, be prepared to let the paint do what it wants to create some amazing effects! I played with some of the newShimmerz Pearlzto create a random, blended background.
Here's how I did it........
To create this background I used the new Shimmerz Pearlz - Ballet Slipper, Grey Flannel, Pearl and Morning Mist.
A close up of all of the pearly goodness!
I can't wait to see what you create with the new Pearlz!!
I recieved this really fun video from Erin Payne. She is on the My Little Shoebox DT. Well, not only was I honored, but was just tickled when I saw how silly and fun this video was. These girls are a total crack up!!!! Erin used Shimmerz Spritz as hair spray (Cotton Candy--I think). LOL I love it!!!! :)
Thanks Erin and Heather! You two really made my day.
Combining fabric and paper into paper cloth is a really fun technique because the result is a flexible paper that doesn't fray. When you use Shimmerz Spritz to add stunningly iridescent color, you certainly take the entire project into the WOW zone.
All you need to complete this technique is: 1. inexpensive muslin 2. (used or new) tissue paper 3. white glue (I used Mod Podge) 4. Shimmerz Spritz. 5. If you'd like, you can also incorporate any extra snippets of paper that you have left-over from other projects and a bit of fine glitter. (I used Art Glitter)
The results are amazing. Just check out this paper cloth that I made with Spritz.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention that paper cloth is eazy-peazy-lemon-squeezy to make. You're going to love it!
I hope after watching the videos that you are inspired to make your own paper cloth! I'd love to see your results. Be sure to leave a link with your comment so I can visit your blog and gush over your creativity!
If you would like to re-create the color schemes on my projects. I've included a list of the Shimmerz products that I used below.
The paper cloth that I demonstrated in the video Shimmerz Spritz: Eucalyptus, Caribbean Sunset, Sapphire (Sea Foam in place of Eucalyptus is also beautiful in this grouping.)
Grubby Angel Shimmerz Spritz: Sea Foam, Chickadee, Cotton Candy, Ruby Shimmerz Blingz: Pixie Dust Home Shimmerz Spritz: Eucalyptus, Mudpie, Treasured Hymn, Chickadee Shimmerz Paints: Royal Red Shimmerz Blingz: Pixie Dust You can purchase Shimmerz Shimmering Products right here.
Hi, Lucy Edson here with my first video tutorial for Shimmerz!
Shimmerz Spritz is perfect for masking on fabric as you can see on this video I made. It added an amazing sheen and color to my masked mini quilt. Take a look at how I started this project:
I added a little more misting to this after I finished the video - the dress form is Chickadee Spritzthe shadow masking, Ruby Spritz and then I added a little 4 Leaf Clover on the right side and Mango Madness over the left edge of the Ruby to add a little more color.
To make my sample into a mini quilt: I layered the masked fabric with cotton batting and a cotton backing, creating a quilt sandwich and with light yellow embroidery thread, free motion quiltied the outline of the dress form first and filled the background with a random pattern. After completing the quilting I straightened the edges and zig-zag stitched them to stop any fraying.
Then, hand stitched some paper doilys onto the sides and layered a few embellishments.
The top has some gold Hambly rub-ons applied after the quilting - I love the look of rub-ons on fabric.
I have some other samples from creating my video and I'll share those with you as I complete them. Thanks and I hope you enjoy another way to play with your Shimmerz Spritz!
