Shimmering Flowers
Sometimes a girl needs a cute hair flower that matches her outfit. Right?
Learn how to make this sweet flower clip using only basic supplies: plain white muslin fabric, a stamp and of course, our favorite, Shimmerz Vibez. It is an easy and fun project that you can even do with your kids! Remember, Shimmerz products are completely non-toxic and clean up with water so this is a stain free project.
Enjoy!
The three color combinations that I created around Sunset Strip Vibez are:
1. Razzel Dazzel Berry, Sea Monkey and Sunset Strip Vibez
2. Blue Jeans, Fiery Fiesta, and Sunset Strip Vibez
3. Grape Escape, Hermit the Frog and Sunset Strip Vibez
As always, you can purchase Shimmerz products here.
*When you visit the Shimmerz store, please let Stacey know that you were inspired by the Education Team by indicating so in the notes section.*
Happy Shimmering!
xoxo

Gift Box and Candy Toppers
Hi everyone! It's time for my very first ed team video... and while I am certain it will get better each go 'round, this time go easy on me, alright?!
I wanted to show you how to make a gift box out of a plain old plastic box. You can certainly use chipboard, or any other kind of box as well, using the method I show you in the video. Then, on Thursday, I will be showing you how to top your gift boxes with fake candies.
Here is a glimpse of what we will be making....
The first box was made using Vibez in Jeni B. Blue and Sea Monkey. The second box, the one I actually create in the video, uses Vibez in Razzle Dazzle Berry and Spritz in Ruby.
Here we go...

Welcome Julie Fei-Fan Balzer
My name is Julie Fei-Fan Balzer and I am a mixed-media artist living in the middle of New York City. I tend to focus on integrating my every day life into everything I create. I love art that looks handmade - lots of tearing and inking and handwriting and hand cutting. I believe that mistakes are opportunities and hold fast to the notion that enjoyment of the process is just as important as the finished product! I like to think outside of the box -- experimenting with paper, paint, and fabric -- always trying to find a way to push my supplies further and see all the possibilities. My hour-long instructional DVD from Cloth Paper Scissors Workshops was released at the end of July 2010, I host the "Artist-to-Artist" segment of Scrapbook Memories TV (PBS), I have a paper line with French Company Sultane, and I have been published in multiple books and magazines. I also teach live internet classes for Prima every other Monday (LiveWithPrima.com). I blog daily with projects, tutorials, and crafty inspiration: www.balzerdesigns.typepad.com. Thank you to Shimmerz for giving me the opportunity to play with their awesome colorants!
In Julie's video, she will demonstrate how she made the background tags on this fab layout.
Thank you again Julie!

Announcing the New Education Team
I know that many artists made a video for the very first time for this application. I hope that you will continue in your video-making as each one was wonderful. It was a very difficult decision to chose only a few out of the many.
Without further ado...
I would like to announce the Shimmerz Education Team.
